President Donates $100 Billion to the United Nations

The U. S. State Department yesterday announced that the Obama Administration has agreed to contribute $4 billion to the United Nations Global Fund to fight AIDs, Tuberculosis, and Malaria from 2011 to 2013.

The $4 billion represents a 38% increase over the previous U.S. commitment to the fund.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that a total of $11.7 billion has been raised from 40 countries, the European Commission, faith-based organizations, private foundations, and various corporations.

This means that over one-third of the money will come from the pockets of US taxpayers.

Oil-rich nations like Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and the United Arab Emirates contribute next to nothing, and China, which holds most of the US $14 trillion debt, agreed to provide a measly $14 million.

In addition to the annual gift of $1.33 billion to the Global Fund, President Obama has agreed to provide billions more for UN projects.

These allocations are set forth in a 28 page document as follows:

•Funnel $63 billion to the Global Health Initiative during the next six years
•Make $1 billion annually to education programs
•Give $475 million to the Global Agricultural and Food Security Program’
•Provide $800 million from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation to Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East and North Africa. An additional $3.2 billion will be provided by private equity capital sources to these Muslim nations
•Shell out millions more available through USAID for developing tech hubs in Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, South Africa, and Senegal.
•Dole out $80 million through the Overseas Private Investment Corporation for small to medium enterprises in the Middle East and North Africa.
•Cough up $2.5 billion annually to 90 countries to “strengthen governance and democratic institutions.”
•Make available $30 billion through the Obama’s Climate Change Initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, $100 billion a year will be provided through taxpayer and private resources to deal with the alleged threat of global climate change.
The United States is assessed at 22% of the U.N. regular budget and more than 27% for U.N. the peacekeeping budget. Mr. Obama has requested $516.3 million for the U.N. regular budget and more than $2.182 billion for the peacekeeping budget for 2011.

The United States is also assessed for numerous other United Nations organizations as well. More than $6.347 billion went to U.N. organizations in FY 2009.

The United States also provides money to the U.N. through the State Department, Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, and other agencies.

Andrea Lafferty of The Traditional Values Coalition writes: “The U.S. taxpayer is forced to pay billions to an inefficient organization run by world leaders who hate America and the free market system. This doesn’t make any sense – nor does our paying 22% of the cost to keep this bureaucracy alive when we have only one vote in the General Assembly.”

Several candidates have called for the U.S. to sever its relationship with the United Nations. The list includes Dennis Ross, a Republican candidate for Congress from the 12th Congressional District of Florida.

In a statement to The New American, Mr. Ross said:

An organization that allows nations like Iran and Libya to chair committees dedicated to human and women’s rights makes a mockery of both. The UN, like any bureaucracy, must constantly be evaluated and put to the test, and if found lacking, be dismantled. I believe the US government is perfectly capable of conducting bilateral and multilateral relations with other nations on our own. Despots, human rights violators, and tyrants should be confronted, not congratulated.

Such concerns over the U.S. involvement with the UN are not new.

Senator Barry Goldwater was quoted in 1971 by the Congressional Record as saying:

The time has come to recognize the U.N. for the anti-American, anti-freedom organization that it has become. The time has come for us to cut off all financial help, withdraw as a member, and ask the U.N. to find a headquarters location outside the United States that is more in keeping with the philosophy of the majority of voting members, someplace like Moscow or Peking.

The official purpose of the LEAVE Act is "to prohibit all activities that assist, encourage, direct, or induce an alien to reside in or remain in the United States or to attempt to reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that the alien is not authorized to be present in the United States."

Prohibit dealings that assist or encourage an illegal alien to cross the border or remain in the United States.

Close the self-employed subcontractor loophole by withholding funds to a state or local government that does not require all business license applicants to comply with E-Verify. A company can currently hire a subcontractor to provide goods and services, bypassing the E-Verify process.
Prohibit states from issuing driver's licenses unless they first verify citizenship or lawful immigration status.
Require the SSA (Social Security Administration) and IRS (Internal Revenue Service) to share information related to the investigation and enforcement of no-match letters.
Add an additional 3,000 ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents by 2014.
Affirm the right of state and local authorities to enforce immigration laws in the course of carrying out routine law enforcement activities.
Require the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) to provide immigration enforcement training for state and local law enforcement officials.
Reimburse states and localities for costs associated with immigration enforcement by making grants available for equipment, technology, facilities, and other products that directly relate to investigating, apprehending, arresting, detaining, or transporting illegal aliens.
Make the Institutional Removal Program available to all states, which would expedite the deportation of criminal aliens after incarceration.
List all immigration violators in the (NCIC) National Crime Information Center Database.
Expand the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) to include illegal aliens that have been convicted or charged with a crime.
Prohibit the DHS and DOJ (Department of Justice) from making funds available to cities that provide sanctuary to illegal aliens.

New Word For The Day - "Dhimmitude" - What Does It Mean?

Obama used it in the health care bill.
Now isn't this interesting? It was used in the health care law.
Every day there's another revelation of what Obama and his fellow
Democrats
are doing to our country.
Dhimmitude -- I had never heard the word until now. Type it into Google
and
start reading. Pretty interesting. It's on page 107 of the healthcare
bill.
I looked this up on Google and yep, it exists. It is a REAL word.
Word of the Day: Dhimmitude
Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-Muslim populations
conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-Muslims in
exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of
converting
conquered remnants to Islam.
Obama Care allows the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat
in the United States . Folks, this is exclusively an Islamic concept under
Sharia Law. So exclusive they had to make up an English word to define the
concept. Why would our government start interjecting Sharia Law concepts
into new broad and sweeping legislation like health care that would
control
the US population? ....Anyone?
Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase
insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured.. Islam
considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking", and "usury" and is
thus
banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this.
How convenient. So a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed
against
all of their assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts
receivables, and will face hard prison time because they refuse to buy
insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan and all other
US Muslims will have no such penalty and will have 100% of their health
needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-Muslims paying a
tax to subsidize Muslims. This is Sharia Law definition of... Dhimmitude.
This is not a Western Civilization concept.
Dhimmit has two purposes: To enrich Muslims AND to drive conversions to
Islam. "Sure, I'll be a Muslim if it means free health insurance and no
taxes. Where do I sign, bro?"

All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Maybe it is time.

Federal Court Grants Governor Jan Brewer’s Motion to Dismiss Several Challenges to SB 1070
PHOENIX – Governor Jan Brewer today announced that the federal district court has granted her motions to dismiss the challenges to SB 1070 filed by Phoenix police officers David Salgado, Corbet Clack, and Paul Dobson and Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc., and the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders et al. The court also dismissed several claims filed by the United States against the State of Arizona.
“I am pleased with today’s decisions,” stated Governor Brewer. “I strongly believe that the citizens of Arizona will ultimately prevail in all of these legal challenges. My defense of the rule of law will continue as vigorously as ever.”
The Arizona Legislature enacted SB 1070 primarily to require that Arizona’s law enforcement officers cooperate in the enforcement of federal immigration laws and, pursuant to the State’s broad police powers, to adopt state crimes that mirror existing federal laws. These laws were duly passed by the Arizona Legislature to protect the citizens of Arizona from the federal government’s failure to enforce the immigration laws effectively.
In today’s orders Judge Susan Bolton agreed with the Governor that the Phoenix police officers, Chicanos Por La Causa, and all of the plaintiffs in the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders action lack standing to bring the suits and rejected every one of their standing arguments.

Recently, in the City of Dallas, Texas, they passed an ordinance that if you are pulled over by law enforcement and not able to provide proof of insurance, your car will be towed right away.

Afterwards, to retrieve your car after being impounded, you must require proof of insurance to have your car released. This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars that are typically driven by mostly illegal’s.

Shortly after "No insurance" ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound lots began to fill up quickly and was full after nine days. Most of the impounded cars were driven by illegal’s. Not only must you provide proof of insurance to have your car released, you have to pay for the cost of the tow, a $350 fine, and charged $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot.

I would suggest other cities across the nation to follow what Dallas, Texas is doing. Not only is it getting uninsured drivers off the road, but it is taking away vehicles driven by illegal’s that have no insurance.

On this third day of the Tea Party Express IV national bus tour, I have been swamped by interviewers from around the world, all asking me to respond to the NAACP report
that the tea parties are racist.





I'm telling you what I told the world, “The NAACP's report is hogwash! I've attend over two hundred tea parties across America. I'm right in the middle, in tune, with the
pulse of the movement; hearing their concerns and feeling their
hearts. All of the racism is coming from the Obama camp. We tea party
patriots are opposing Obama's socialist agenda, not his skin color.
Polls say 25% of tea parties attendees voted for Obama.”




So NAACP, your latest trick will fail because it is divisive and evil. Good always triumphs!

Republicans will unveil their new 'Contract' on Thursday in Virginia

Republicans will unveil their new “Contract With America” in Virginia on Thursday as they try to present a clear alternative to the Democrat-led Congress heading into the midterm elections.


The new document — modeled after the original “Contract With America,” credited with helping Republicans win the House in 1994 — will highlight
what the GOP would stand for if it were to return to power in Congress.
Polls show Republicans have a strong chance of winning back the House
this fall, and taking the Senate is not considered out of reach.







Material for the contract was culled from the GOP’s America Speaking
Out program, which asked voters to submit ideas on how to govern the
country.

“House Republicans have been listening to the American people, and we’re going to put forth a positive agenda that focuses on solutions for the top priorities of the nation,” said Brendan Buck,
spokesman for America Speaking Out.


For much of the last two years, Republicans have won points from voters chiefly by opposing the Obama administration’s agenda.


But now, with momentum on their side for a possible takeover of Congress, Republicans are moving beyond their opposition to President Obama and
developing a more concrete legislative agenda.


GOP leaders have already hinted at some of the ideas that could be included in the contract. House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), for instance, has
called for a two-year extension of all the Bush-era tax cuts and a
reduction in spending to 2008 levels. Obama and Democratic leaders, in
contrast, want to let the tax breaks for upper-income individuals and
families expire.


Republicans have also pressed for repeal of the healthcare reform law, and for replacing it with new reforms. Some GOP figures have also called for repealing the Wall Street reform law
that established a new regulatory structure for the financial sector.


Social conservatives have said they’re confident their priorities will be well-represented in the contract.


Democrats, for their part, are eager to have a look at the new GOP agenda. They are planning their own event on Thursday to outline the “Real Republican
Agenda,” an extension of an effort they’ve made in recent weeks to
argue that the GOP would revive unpopular initiatives.


“Washington Republicans are finally getting around to releasing an agenda for this Congress. What’s shocking is that it took them more than 20 months to
repackage a plan that’s no different from the one that caused the Great
Bush Recession,” said Doug Thornell, a spokesman for Rep. Chris Van
Hollen (Md.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign
Committee.


The GOP document will likely be different from the 1994 contract pioneered by Newt Gingrich (Ga.), the GOP leader who became Speaker after landslides handed Republicans the House and Senate
that cycle.


The original contract promised a floor vote within 100 days on a variety of legislative initiatives, from a balanced-budget amendment to term limits to a crime-fighting
package. GOP officials have not said whether the new Contract will set a
timeline for floor votes.


Republicans also won’t sign the new governing document, as candidates did during a highly publicized rollout event in 1994.

Arizona Sheriff: Obama ‘Undermining’ Law on the Border

An Arizona sheriff contends that President Obama is “undermining the rule of law” by blocking the border enforcement needed to prevent
illegals and narco-terrorists from flooding into the United States from
Mexico.

In an exclusive Newsmax.TV interview, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu
said the administration has actively thwarted law enforcement efforts
to help secure the border.

As a consequence, Mexican drug cartels now control some parts of
Arizona, says Babeu, who is president of the Arizona Sheriff’s
Association.

“Every day, there are paramilitary, squad-sized elements who are out
escorting drugs or human illegals with AK-47s,” he said. “And they have
scouts on top of high points of terrain, hilltops, and literally for
miles and miles they control movement in these areas.

“Now we’re the ones who patrol this area. And I can tell you quite
honestly that we do not control those parts of the area, because we’re
not there all the time. And they know when we’re there and when we’re
not there. We don’t even have a helicopter.”

Babeu, an outspoken supporter of Arizona’s controversial new
immigration law, said the administration has made it more difficult to
protect citizens on an increasingly unstable border.

“The federal government, instead of supporting us and saying, ‘You go,
Arizona, sorry we can’t help you,’ they decided to go a step further
and drag us into court, with the ACLU, so they’re undermining the rule
of law,” he said.

“They literally want to leap frog over border security and just go
right to amnesty. And that’s not going to happen. This is our country.
You just don’t get to citizenship by breaking the law,” he said.

The nature of the violence “bleeding over into America” has changed
during the past year, said Babeu, who lists the following among his
chief concerns:



His department, which is responsible for patrolling an area larger than the state of Connecticut, faces two or three high-speed pursuits a night. That never happened before, he said.
His deputies routinely face drug gang members armed with AK-47 automatic rifles. In April, one of his deputies was wounded seriously when six
members of a Mexican drug cartel ambushed them.
The gangs that smuggle humans and drugs are becoming more aggressive. “We have sheriffs here in Arizona, myself included, who have death threats
against us by the Mexican mafia and the drug cartels,” he said.
More than 20 percent of illegals passing through his county are OTMs – Border Patrol jargon for “other than Mexicans,” and some are coming
from “nations of interest” known for terrorists, such as Iran, Yemen,
Somalia, and Jordan.

Babeu, who, along with Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpaio, has been an
outspoken critic of the administration’s failure to secure the southern
border, said: “You’ve got to be kidding! And this is not considered a
national security threat, when we know their M.O., what they’re trying
to do, to have sleeper cells come into America?”

Babeu told Newsmax he is certain border fences work. One reason for his
confidence: He helped build the fence that protects San Diego.

A combat engineer and major in the Arizona Army National Guard, Babeu
said completion of the fence that protects San Diego from Tijuana has
had a profound impact.

“The following year, once it was finally completed, violent crime went
down in San Diego by 52 percent,” he told Newsmax. “That’s an FBI
statistic.”

He urged the administration to resume construction of the double-walled
border fence and to send another 6,000 soldiers to secure the border.
Of those, he said, 3,000 need to be assigned to patrol Arizona.

The Bureau of Federal Land Management has responded to the escalating
violence, posting signs along 60 miles of highway linking Tucson and
Phoenix, warning citizens in English that the area is unsafe because of
armed criminals, drugs, and alien smugglers.

Babeu told Newsmax that he wants President Obama to visit the border region and “take these damn signs down.”

He added: “This is the United States of America. This isn’t half way
across the world. This is our country, and we should have a right to
enjoy our own safety and freedoms here in America, and not have to
worry about armed squads of illegals and armed squads of drug cartel
members. We don’t even feel safe in our homes and on our own property
in many parts of my county.”

Babeu said he believes it’s only a matter of time until the administration files a lawsuit against him or one of his officers.

“The allegation’s going to be made that they racially profiled,” Babeu
said. “And of course people are going to believe that, because the
president and Eric Holder told everybody that that’s what we’re going
to do.

“So that’s what they’re going to use to take us to court again, to drag
a hero, a police officer, through the mud publicly . . . which is just
shameful that our own president would do this,” he said.

In response, Babeu and fellow Arizona Sheriff Larry Dever of Cochise
County have established a legal defense fund to support the state’s
immigration law. Information on the fund is available at

“We need help from patriots, from Americans across the country, to
donate $20, $50, $100, whatever they can afford, to literally fight
back against our own government,” he said.

“We’re building this legal defense fund to articulate a law-enforcement
perspective, and to say why we need this law as an additional tool for
us to keep our family safe and protect America, because you know what?
Our own federal government under Barack Obama is not protecting America
by having a secure border,” he stated.

How Obama Thinks...its long but a MUST READ!!!!

Barack Obama is the most antibusiness president in a generation, perhaps
in American history. Thanks to him the era of big government is back.
Obama runs up taxpayer debt not in the billions but in the trillions. He
has expanded the federal government's control over home mortgages,
investment banking, health care, autos and energy. The
Weekly Standard
summarizes Obama's approach as omnipotence at home, impotence abroad.


The President's actions are so bizarre that they mystify his critics and
supporters alike. Consider this headline from the Aug. 18, 2009 issue
of the
Wall Street Journal
: "Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling." Did you read that correctly?
You did. The Administration supports offshore drilling--but drilling off
the shores of Brazil. With Obama's backing, the U.S. Export-Import Bank
offered $2 billion in loans and guarantees to Brazil's state-owned oil
company Petrobras to finance exploration in the Santos Basin near Rio de
Janeiro--not so the oil ends up in the U.S. He is funding Brazilian
exploration so that the oil can stay in Brazil.


More strange behavior: Obama's June 15, 2010 speech in response to the
Gulf oil spill focused not on cleanup strategies but rather on the fact
that Americans "consume more than 20% of the world's oil but have less
than 2% of the world's resources." Obama railed on about "America's
century-long addiction to fossil fuels." What does any of this have to
do with the oil spill? Would the calamity have been less of a problem if
America consumed a mere 10% of the world's resources?


The oddities go on and on. Obama's Administration has declared that even
banks that want to repay their bailout money may be refused permission
to do so. Only after the Obama team cleared a bank through the Fed's
"stress test" was it eligible to give taxpayers their money back. Even
then, declared Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, the Administration might
force banks to keep the money.


The President continues to push for stimulus even though hundreds of
billions of dollars in such funds seem to have done little. The
unemployment rate when Obama took office in January 2009 was 7.7%; now
it is 9.5%. Yet he wants to spend even more and is determined to foist
the entire bill on Americans making $250,000 a year or more. The rich,
Obama insists, aren't paying their "fair share." This by itself seems
odd given that the top 1% of Americans pay 40% of all federal income
taxes; the next 9% of income earners pay another 30%. So the top 10%
pays 70% of the taxes; the bottom 40% pays close to nothing. This does
indeed seem unfair--to the rich.


Obama's foreign policy is no less strange. He supports a $100 million
mosque scheduled to be built near the site where terrorists in the name
of Islam brought down the World Trade Center. Obama's rationale, that
"our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable," seems utterly
irrelevant to the issue of why the proposed Cordoba House should be
constructed at Ground Zero.


Recently the London
Times
reported that the Obama Administration supported the conditional
release of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber convicted in
connection with the deaths of 270 people, mostly Americans. This was an
eye-opener because when Scotland released Megrahi from prison and sent
him home to Libya in August 2009, the Obama Administration publicly and
appropriately complained. The
Times
, however, obtained a letter the Obama Administration sent to Scotland a
week before the event in which it said that releasing Megrahi on
"compassionate grounds" was acceptable as long as he was kept in
Scotland and would be "far preferable" to sending him back to Libya.
Scottish officials interpreted this to mean that U.S. objections to
Megrahi's release were "half-hearted." They released him to his home
country, where he lives today as a free man.


One more anomaly: A few months ago nasa Chief Charles Bolden announced
that from now on the primary mission of America's space agency would be
to improve relations with the Muslim world. Come again? Bolden said he
got the word directly from the President. "He wanted me to find a way to
reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly
Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution
to science and math and engineering." Bolden added that the
International Space Station was a model for nasa's future, since it was
not just a U.S. operation but included the Russians and the Chinese.
Obama's redirection of the agency caused consternation among former
astronauts like Neil Armstrong and John Glenn, and even among the
President's supporters: Most people think of nasa's job as one of
landing on the moon and Mars and exploring other faraway destinations.
Sure, we are for Islamic self-esteem, but what on earth was Obama up to
here?


Theories abound to explain the President's goals and actions. Critics in
the business community--including some Obama voters who now have
buyer's remorse--tend to focus on two main themes. The first is that
Obama is clueless about business. The second is that Obama is a
socialist--not an out-and-out Marxist, but something of a European-style
socialist, with a penchant for leveling and government redistribution.



These theories aren't wrong so much as they are inadequate. Even if they
could account for Obama's domestic policy, they cannot explain his
foreign policy. The real problem with Obama is worse--much worse. But we
have been blinded to his real agenda because, across the political
spectrum, we all seek to fit him into some version of American history.
In the process, we ignore Obama's own history. Here is a man who spent
his formative years--the first 17 years of his life--off the American
mainland, in Hawaii, Indonesia and Pakistan, with multiple subsequent
journeys to Africa.


A good way to discern what motivates Obama is to ask a simple question:
What is his dream? Is it the American dream? Is it Martin Luther King's
dream? Or something else?


It is certainly not the American dream as conceived by the founders.
They believed the nation was a "new order for the ages." A half-century
later Alexis de Tocqueville wrote of America as creating "a distinct
species of mankind." This is known as American exceptionalism. But when
asked at a 2009 press conference whether he believed in this ideal,
Obama said no. America, he suggested, is no more unique or exceptional
than Britain or Greece or any other country.


Perhaps, then, Obama shares Martin Luther King's dream of a color-blind
society. The President has benefited from that dream; he campaigned as a
nonracial candidate, and many Americans voted for him because he
represents the color-blind ideal. Even so, King's dream is not Obama's:
The President never champions the idea of color-blindness or
race-neutrality. This inaction is not merely tactical; the race issue
simply isn't what drives Obama.


What then is Obama's dream? We don't have to speculate because the President tells us himself in his autobiography,
Dreams from My Father
. According to Obama, his dream is his father's dream. Notice that his title is not
Dreams of My Father
but rather
Dreams from My Father
. Obama isn't writing about his father's dreams; he is writing about the dreams he received from his father.


So who was Barack Obama Sr.? He was a Luo tribesman who grew up in Kenya
and studied at Harvard. He was a polygamist who had, over the course of
his lifetime, four wives and eight children. One of his sons, Mark
Obama, has accused him of abuse and wife-beating. He was also a regular
drunk driver who got into numerous accidents, killing a man in one and
causing his own legs to be amputated due to injury in another. In 1982
he got drunk at a bar in Nairobi and drove into a tree, killing himself.


An odd choice, certainly, as an inspirational hero. But to his son, the
elder Obama represented a great and noble cause, the cause of
anticolonialism. Obama Sr. grew up during Africa's struggle to be free
of European rule, and he was one of the early generation of Africans
chosen to study in America and then to shape his country's future.


I know a great deal about anticolonialism, because I am a native of
Mumbai, India. I am part of the first Indian generation to be born after
my country's independence from the British. Anticolonialism was the
rallying cry of Third World politics for much of the second half of the
20th century. To most Americans, however, anticolonialism is an
unfamiliar idea, so let me explain it.


Anticolonialism is the doctrine that rich countries of the West got rich
by invading, occupying and looting poor countries of Asia, Africa and
South America. As one of Obama's acknowledged intellectual influences,
Frantz Fanon, wrote in
The Wretched of the Earth
, "The well-being and progress of Europe have been built up with the
sweat and the dead bodies of Negroes, Arabs, Indians and the yellow
races."



Anticolonialists hold that even when countries secure political
independence they remain economically dependent on their former captors.
This dependence is called neocolonialism, a term defined by the African
statesman Kwame Nkrumah (1909--72) in his book
Neocolonialism: The Last Stage of Imperialism
. Nkrumah, Ghana's first president, writes that poor countries may be
nominally free, but they continue to be manipulated from abroad by
powerful corporate and plutocratic elites. These forces of
neocolonialism oppress not only Third World people but also citizens in
their own countries. Obviously the solution is to resist and overthrow
the oppressors. This was the anticolonial ideology of Barack Obama Sr.
and many in his generation, including many of my own relatives in India.


Obama Sr. was an economist, and in 1965 he published an important article in the
East Africa Journal
called "Problems Facing Our Socialism." Obama Sr. wasn't a doctrinaire
socialist; rather, he saw state appropriation of wealth as a necessary
means to achieve the anticolonial objective of taking resources away
from the foreign looters and restoring them to the people of Africa. For
Obama Sr. this was an issue of national autonomy. "Is it the African
who owns this country? If he does, then why should he not control the
economic means of growth in this country?"


As he put it, "We need to eliminate power structures that have been
built through excessive accumulation so that not only a few individuals
shall control a vast magnitude of resources as is the case now." The
senior Obama proposed that the state confiscate private land and raise
taxes with no upper limit. In fact, he insisted that "theoretically
there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income
so long as the people get benefits from the government commensurate
with their income which is taxed."


Remarkably, President Obama, who knows his father's history very well,
has never mentioned his father's article. Even more remarkably, there
has been virtually no reporting on a document that seems directly
relevant to what the junior Obama is doing in the White House.


While the senior Obama called for Africa to free itself from the
neocolonial influence of Europe and specifically Britain, he knew when
he came to America in 1959 that the global balance of power was
shifting. Even then, he recognized what has become a new tenet of
anticolonialist ideology: Today's neocolonial leader is not Europe but
America. As the late Palestinian scholar Edward Said--who was one of
Obama's teachers at Columbia University--wrote in
Culture and Imperialism
, "The United States has replaced the earlier great empires and is the dominant outside force."


From the anticolonial perspective, American imperialism is on a rampage.
For a while, U.S. power was checked by the Soviet Union, but since the
end of the Cold War, America has been the sole superpower. Moreover,
9/11 provided the occasion for America to invade and occupy two
countries, Iraq and Afghanistan, and also to seek political and economic
domination in the same way the French and the British empires once did.
So in the anticolonial view, America is now the rogue elephant that
subjugates and tramples the people of the world.


It may seem incredible to suggest that the anticolonial ideology of
Barack Obama Sr. is espoused by his son, the President of the United
States. That is what I am saying. From a very young age and through his
formative years, Obama learned to see America as a force for global
domination and destruction. He came to view America's military as an
instrument of neocolonial occupation. He adopted his father's position
that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder.
Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of
neocolonial power within America. In his worldview, profits are a
measure of how effectively you have ripped off the rest of society, and
America's power in the world is a measure of how selfishly it consumes
the globe's resources and how ruthlessly it bullies and dominates the
rest of the planet.


For Obama, the solutions are simple. He must work to wring the
neocolonialism out of America and the West. And here is where our
anticolonial understanding of Obama really takes off, because it
provides a vital key to explaining not only his major policy actions but
also the little details that no other theory can adequately account
for.


Why support oil drilling off the coast of Brazil but not in America?
Obama believes that the West uses a disproportionate share of the
world's energy resources, so he wants neocolonial America to have less
and the former colonized countries to have more. More broadly, his
proposal for carbon taxes has little to do with whether the planet is
getting warmer or colder; it is simply a way to penalize, and therefore
reduce, America's carbon consumption. Both as a U.S. Senator and in his
speech, as President, to the United Nations, Obama has proposed that the
West massively subsidize energy production in the developing world.



Rejecting the socialist formula, Obama has shown no intention to
nationalize the investment banks or the health sector. Rather, he seeks
to decolonize these institutions, and this means bringing them under the
government's leash. That's why Obama retains the right to refuse
bailout paybacks--so that he can maintain his control. For Obama, health
insurance companies on their own are oppressive racketeers, but once
they submitted to federal oversight he was happy to do business with
them. He even promised them expanded business as a result of his law
forcing every American to buy health insurance.


If Obama shares his father's anticolonial crusade, that would explain
why he wants people who are already paying close to 50% of their income
in overall taxes to pay even more. The anticolonialist believes that
since the rich have prospered at the expense of others, their wealth
doesn't really belong to them; therefore whatever can be extracted from
them is automatically just. Recall what Obama Sr. said in his 1965
paper: There is no tax rate too high, and even a 100% rate is justified
under certain circumstances.


Obama supports the Ground Zero mosque because to him 9/11 is the event
that unleashed the American bogey and pushed us into Iraq and
Afghanistan. He views some of the Muslims who are fighting against
America abroad as resisters of U.S. imperialism. Certainly that is the
way the Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi portrayed himself at his
trial. Obama's perception of him as an anticolonial resister would
explain why he gave tacit approval for this murderer of hundreds of
Americans to be released from captivity.


Finally, nasa. No explanation other than anticolonialism makes sense of
Obama's curious mandate to convert a space agency into a Muslim and
international outreach. We can see how well our theory works by
recalling the moon landing of Apollo 11 in 1969. "One small step for
man," Neil Armstrong said. "One giant leap for mankind."


But that's not how the rest of the world saw it. I was 8 years old at
the time and living in my native India. I remember my grandfather
telling me about the great race between America and Russia to put a man
on the moon. Clearly America had won, and this was one giant leap not
for mankind but for the U.S. If Obama shares this view, it's no wonder
he wants to blunt nasa's space program, to divert it from a symbol of
American greatness into a more modest public relations program.


Clearly the anticolonial ideology of Barack Obama Sr. goes a long way to
explain the actions and policies of his son in the Oval Office. And we
can be doubly sure about his father's influence because those who know
Obama well testify to it. His "granny" Sarah Obama (not his real
grandmother but one of his grandfather's other wives) told
Newsweek
, "I look at him and I see all the same things--he has taken everything
from his father. The son is realizing everything the father wanted. The
dreams of the father are still alive in the son."


In his own writings Obama stresses the centrality of his father not only
to his beliefs and values but to his very identity. He calls his memoir
"the record of a personal, interior journey--a boy's search for his
father and through that search a workable meaning for his life as a
black American." And again, "It was into my father's image, the black
man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in
myself." Even though his father was absent for virtually all his life,
Obama writes, "My father's voice had nevertheless remained untainted,
inspiring, rebuking, granting or withholding approval. You do not work
hard enough, Barry. You must help in your people's struggle. Wake up,
black man!"


The climax of Obama's narrative is when he goes to Kenya and weeps at
his father's grave. It is riveting: "When my tears were finally spent,"
he writes, "I felt a calmness wash over me. I felt the circle finally
close. I realized that who I was, what I cared about, was no longer just
a matter of intellect or obligation, no longer a construct of words. I
saw that my life in America--the black life, the white life, the sense
of abandonment I'd felt as a boy, the frustration and hope I'd witnessed
in Chicago--all of it was connected with this small piece of earth an
ocean away, connected by more than the accident of a name or the color
of my skin. The pain that I felt was my father's pain."


In an eerie conclusion, Obama writes that "I sat at my father's grave
and spoke to him through Africa's red soil." In a sense, through the
earth itself, he communes with his father and receives his father's
spirit. Obama takes on his father's struggle, not by recovering his body
but by embracing his cause. He decides that where Obama Sr. failed, he
will succeed. Obama Sr.'s hatred of the colonial system becomes Obama
Jr.'s hatred; his botched attempt to set the world right defines his
son's objective. Through a kind of sacramental rite at the family tomb,
the father's struggle becomes the son's birthright.



Colonialism today is a dead issue. No one cares about it except the man
in the White House. He is the last anticolonial. Emerging market
economies such as China, India, Chile and Indonesia have solved the
problem of backwardness; they are exploiting their labor advantage and
growing much faster than the U.S. If America is going to remain on top,
we have to compete in an increasingly tough environment.


But instead of readying us for the challenge, our President is trapped

U.S. shifts approach to deporting illegal immigrants

The Obama administration is changing the federal immigration enforcement strategy in ways that reduce the threat of deportation for millions of illegal immigrants, even as states such
as Arizona, Colorado, Virginia, Ohio and Texas are pushing to accelerate deportations.
The changes focus enforcement on immigrants who have committed serious crimes, an effort to unclog immigration courts and detention centers. A record backlog of deportation cases has forced
immigrants to wait an average 459 days for their hearings, according to
an Aug. 12 report by Syracuse University's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), which analyzes government data.




Among the recent changes:

• Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton ordered agency officials on Aug. 20 to begin dismissing deportation cases against people who haven't committed
serious crimes and have credible immigration applications pending.



• A proposed directive from Morton posted on ICE's website for public comment last month would generally prohibit police from using misdemeanor traffic stops to send people to ICE.
Traffic stops have led to increased deportations in recent years,
according to Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center
for Immigration Studies, a think tank whose research supports tighter
enforcement.

The directive said exceptions would be made in certain cases, such as when immigrants have serious criminal records.

• ICE officers have been told to "exercise discretion" when deciding whether to detain "long-time lawful permanent residents, juveniles, the immediate family members of U.S. citizens,
veterans, members of the armed forces and their families, and others
with illnesses or special circumstances," Daniel Ragsdale, ICE executive
associate director of management, testified July 1 in the
administration's lawsuit to block Arizona's controversial immigration
law. The law requires police officers to determine the immigration
status of suspects stopped for another offense if there was a
"reasonable suspicion" they are in the USA illegally. A U.S. district
judge has held up the provision pending review.

• A draft memo from ICE's sister agency, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, to Morton discussed ways the administration could adjust regulations so certain groups, such as
college students and the spouses of military personnel, could legalize
their status or at least avoid deportation if Congress doesn't pass
comprehensive immigration reform. USCIS rules on applications for visas,
work permits and citizenship. USCIS spokesman Christopher Bentley said
the memo was intended to stimulate brainstorming on how to legalize
immigrants if new laws aren't passed.

The administration's new direction puts it at odds with those who believe the nation's immigration laws should be strictly enforced and that all illegal immigrants should be deported.

ICE is "thumbing its nose at the law," said Rep. Steve King of Iowa, the top Republican on the House immigration subcommittee.

The changes have also drawn complaints from immigration advocates. They say deportations under Obama are at record highs and immigrants who remain behind are living in limbo, without work
permits, Social Security cards or driver's licenses.

"This isn't a free ticket," said Raed Gonzalez, a Houston attorney who saw cases against his clients dropped last month. "The government can put them back into proceedings at any time."

Morton said in an interview that the new strategy is smarter, not softer, enforcement. At a time when more than 10 million people are in the country illegally, record sums are spent on
enforcement and the federal budget faces huge deficits, it makes sense
to target people who pose the biggest threat to public safety or
national security, he said.

"Congress provides enough money to deport a little less than 400,000 people," Morton said. "My perspective is those 400,000 people shouldn't be the first 400,000 people in the door but
rather 400,000 people who reflect some considered government enforcement
policy based on a rational set of objectives and priorities."

ICE statistics show that deportations have increased dramatically from 189,000 in 2001 to 387,000 in 2009. Much of the increase results from deportations of people who haven't committed
serious crimes, according to TRAC.

This year, however, that trend took a sharp turn, according to an Aug. 12 TRAC report.

The number of criminal immigrants removed by ICE "climbed to an all-time high," the report said. In fiscal 2010, which began Oct. 1, "The removal pace of criminal aliens ... is fully 60%
higher than in the last year of the Bush administration, and at least a third (37%) higher than in the first year of the Obama administration."

The naked lies were too numerous to count in President Obama’sspeech in Ohio today. But let’s try and respond to a couple.

*15. “We also hoped for a chance to get beyond some of the political divides between Democrats and Republicans…”*

One cannot “get beyond” the political divides of this country when the objective is to “fundamentally transform” the United States. Obama’s talk of bi-partisanship has been clearly demonstrated to just be a campaign technique to woo moderates.

He could have ruled from the Center — the model was there in Bill Clinton’ssecond term. Instead he chose to push a leftist agenda, thus further exacerbating the divide.

*14. “Because we are proud to be Democrats, we are prouder to be Americans.” *

Says the Post-American Presidentwho rejects the concept of American exceptionalism and bows to foreign kings.

*13. “I ran for President because for much of the last decade a very specific governing philosophy had reigned about about how American should work.”*

He expects us to believe that anything President Bush did in any way inspired him to run for President?

*12. “Folks were forced to put more debt on their credit cards and to borrow against homes that many couldn’t afford to buy in the first place.”*

*Forced*? As in Discover Card and American Express put a gun to their customers head and demanded they load themselves up with debt? Monster Housecame by and threatened to devour people if they didn’t sign the mortgage?

*11. “I ran for president because I believed that this kind of economy was unsustainable for the middle class and the future of our nation.”*

Obama is not interested in sustainability. The debt levels we already have and that he is further burdening us with make a mockery of his claims for interest in sustainability.

*10. “I ran because I had a different idea about how America was built. It was an idea rooted in my own family’s story.”*

*Built?* Obama does not have a different idea about how America was built. The historical facts are quite clear. He has a different idea about the America that *he* wants to build — and build by destroying what already exists.

*9. “Yes, our families believed in the American values of self-reliance and individual responsibility and they instilled those values in their children. But they also believed in a country that rewards responsibility, a country that rewards hard work, a country built on the promise of opportunity and upward mobility.”*

If Obama was raised with the American value of self-reliance and individual responsibility then why was a communist like Frank Marshall Davisallowed to be one of his mentors?

*8. “The flawed policies and economic weaknesses of the previous decade culminated in a financial crisis and the worst recession of our lifetimes.”*

This is perhaps the most fundamental, important lie in Obama’s entire speech: the recession we’re going through right now was caused by Republicans’ economic policies. The truth is far less dramatic: everyone is to blame for the economic recession. “Blame” can be pointed toward the Left, the Right, the Democrats, the Republicans, the “fat cats” on Wall Street, and the poor people who took out mortgages they could not pay

If everyone is to blame for something then no one is to blame for it. And we can understand this recession as just one more wave in a perpetual cycle of booms and busts .

*7. “Some Republicans thought it was smart politics to sit on the sidelines and let Democrats solve the mess. Others believe on principle that government shouldn’t meddle in the markets — even when the markets are broken.”*

No, Republicans thought it would be smart politics to fight Democrats and try to stop them from making the problems we face worse. No, conservatives who believed on principle that government should not interfere in a company failing did not believe the market was broken. A boom and bust business cycle is not an example of the market being “broken” but of it functioning in the same pattern it has ever since the Roman empire.

Obama — and the rest of the Left — is unable to actually confront the conservative argument. They always have to lie about their opponents’ position. Observe how in the fight over the Ground Zero Mosque somehow the debate magically shifted to whether there was a legal right to build a mosque at the location.

*6. “The same philosophy that led to this mess in the first place.”*

*What* was the philosophy that led us here? Friedman economics? Keynesianism? Obama can’t say because he needs to be as vague as possible in order to try and manipulate the least educated people listening. That’s who Obama relies on to develop and maintain power.

*5. “Their argument is should insurance companies go back to denying care for people who are sick or let credit card companies go back to raising rates without any reason… Cleveland, that is not the America I know. That is not the America we believe in.”*

Insurance companies do not “deny care.” They deny paying for some procedures. This is an inevitability of every healthcare system on the planet. If we had the most socialist healthcare system imaginable — like Britain’s for example — all that would be different is it would be the government being forced to make the decisions to deny paying for something. There is not a health insurance tree in the backyard yielding unlimited insurance fruit for all.

But at least there is a moment of honesty here — yes, the America that actually exists today is not something Obama believes in. When he talks of an America he loves he speaks of the country that exists in his imagination — one decades down the line that has come into being through his brilliant policies.

*4. “It’s still fear versus hope, the past versus the future.”*

As stated in *The Art of Political War*, “fear” and “hope” are just symbols used in political combat. In his previous breath it was Obama himself evoking fear by lying about insurance companies “denying” people care.

*3. “I’ve never believed that it’s government’s role to create jobs or prosperity. I believe it’s the drive and ingenuity of our entrepreneurs, small businesses, the skill and dedication of our works that’s made us the wealthiest nation on earth. “*

You can just feel the disdain in his voice. He can push through government “stimulus” programs that cost more than all the money spent on the Iraq warand actually tell us this with a straight face.

*2. “I believe it’s the private sector that must be the main engine for our recovery.”*

If this was the case the he would fuel that engine through slashing taxes across the board.

*1. “But in the words of the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, I also believe that government should do for the people what they cannot do better for themselves.”*

Yeah, um, let’s read the quote in contextto see what a shameless liar our current president is.

And the *damning* Freudian slip:

*“I believe government should be lean, government should be efficient, I believe government should **lead** people free to make the choices that are best for themselves and their families so long as those choices don’t hurt others.”*

He meant to say government should *leave** people free to make the choices. But **lead** came out instead. Read the prepared remarks here.This is, of course, his embrace of the big government philosophies of his czar Cass Sunstein, co-author of the book **Nudge ** which argues government should push people to make the right choices.*

*This is a President with such disdain for America and its people that he demands he and his elite team **lead** the citizens in making the choices that are best for you.*
